Police Services

The City of Stoughton Police Department offers many services to the public and other agencies. These services include:

  • In Person: Payments are accepted at the dispatch window, Public Safety Building, 321 S. Fourth St. Stoughton. Open 24 hours a day / 7 days a week

    Payments can be made the form of Cash, Check, Money Order or Credit/Debit Cards (Fees Apply)

    Online: You can pay your tickets/citations online by clicking here and selecting Police Department Fines in the drop down.

    By Mail: When MAILING a payment, please DO NOT SEND CASH.

    Checks or Money Orders must be made payable to the City of Stoughton and mailed to the Stoughton Municipal Court, 321 South Fourth Street, Stoughton, WI 53589

  • The Stoughton Wellness Coalition provided a permanent medication disposal drop off box located at the front of the Stoughton Police Department. The drug drop off box is anonymous and available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Bring all medications in original containers (if possible) and cross off personal information with a black marker. You can place your prescription drugs, medication samples, over-the-counter medications and inhalers into the drug drop off box. Sharps, needles and lancets will NOT be accepted in the drop box but can be collected at the two annual medication disposal events in Stoughton.

    The Stoughton Wellness Coalition has been active since 2006. It is a coalition with Stoughton Hospital, the Stoughton Area School District and the City of Stoughton. The coalition promotes a collaborative approach to personal and community wellness through health promotion, educational programming and service to the Stoughton Area Community.

  • The Stoughton Police Department can:

    • Issue Plates and Title Used In-State Vehicle ($19.50 counter fee)

    • Issue Plates and Title Used Out-of-State Vehicle ($19.50 counter fee)

    • Transfer Plates and Title Used In-State Vehicle ($19.50 counter fee)

    • Renew Plates ($9.00 counter fee)

    The amounts above DO NOT include WI DOT Fees (registration, taxes, etc.) or Applicable Wheel Tax

    Credit/Debit Card use also adds an additional processing fee.

    Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
    Saturday - Temporarily Suspended
    Sunday - Closed

Project Child Safe disseminates firearm safety kits (which include a gun lock and safety education brochure) through law enforcement agencies across the country.
